Eid Festive Films
Role
Creative Direction for concept, narrative and tone. Also contributed as Designer for posters and hero visuals used across campaign and print.
The Task
The aim was to craft two short films that captured the heart of Eid. These were more than festive greetings. Each story explored emotional themes, forgiveness, reflection and family. The goal was to make something heartfelt and lasting.
Creative Direction
The approach centred around everyday truths. One story followed a man trying to rebuild after prison. The other portrayed a worker buried in deadlines. Direction was focused on tone, timing and emotional rhythm, helping each film speak clearly without needing to over explain.
Second Chance (2023)
Theme: Redemption. Forgiveness. A quiet restart.
The story of Din, a man trying to rebuild his life after prison. He keeps his head down, works at the market and does good quietly, all under the watch of a brother-in-law who is unsure about giving him another chance. The ending, a quiet moment of forgiveness, lands without a word spoken.
Peluang Kedua (2023)
Visual Approach
Muted tones, grain textures and character-focused layouts created a grounded and cinematic poster suite. Each design hinted at Din’s inner journey before the first scene unfolded.
TIME (2024)
Theme: Priorities, reflection, and the value of time with loved ones.
Fateh, a work-heavy auditor, is shaken by a few small yet powerful encounters. As Eid nears, he chooses presence over pressure, leaving his desk to spend time with those who matter.
MASA (2024)
Campaign Extension
A range of teaser posters, countdown graphics and vertical visuals for social platforms helped build anticipation. Visuals were guided by mood and expression, using light and shadow to echo the film’s emotional core.
Response and Reach
The two films gained over half a million combined views on YouTube. One entered the national Top 10 Eid Shorts, while the other was featured on a local tabloid front page during Eid. The core visuals helped the stories travel beyond the screen and into real conversations.
On Set and In Frame
Behind the camera, there were full days of resets, feedback, adjusting scenes on the fly. At one point, a role needed filling, so stepped in to act too. These were not just production days. They were honest moments of teamwork, made up of laughs, edits, shared ideas and real effort to bring something genuine to life.
